Betting rules

Every wager is accepted and settled under the Terms of service. Fixed-odds bets are settled at the price shown and confirmed at the time the bet is accepted; later price movements do not change an accepted bet. Markets are settled on the official result declared by the relevant controlling body. If an official result is later amended (for example, on protest, disqualification or a corrected scorecard), settlement follows the standard practice for the market concerned.

Settlement by market type.

  • Head-to-head and match result — settled on the team or competitor recorded as the winner of the listed fixture. Where a market specifies whether extra time, golden point or a super over counts, that specification governs.
  • Line, handicap and margin — the published handicap is applied to the final official score; a result that lands exactly on a whole-number line is refunded (push).
  • Totals (over/under) — settled on the official aggregate for the period stated in the market; exact landings on a whole-number total are refunded.
  • Futures and outright — settled when the competition or series concludes; non-participation does not entitle a refund once the market is live unless the market terms state otherwise.
  • Multis — all legs must win; a voided leg is removed and the multi re-calculated on the remaining legs.

Settlement by sport and discipline. Racing win and place markets settle on the official placings declared by the principal racing authority, including any amendment on protest; a non-runner is refunded and place terms follow the declared field size. Team-sport markets (AFL, NRL, A-League, cricket) settle on the official competition result for the listed fixture. A fixture that is abandoned, postponed or rescheduled outside the listed day is voided and stakes refunded unless it is completed within the period stated in the market or the relevant market has already been unconditionally determined.

Payments

Methods. Eligible Visa and Mastercard debit cards, PayID, BPAY, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Consumer credit cards and cryptocurrency are not accepted, consistent with the Interactive Gambling Amendment (Credit and Other Measures) Act 2023.

Processing times. Card, PayID, Apple Pay and Google Pay deposits are credited immediately; BPAY deposits clear within one to two business days. Withdrawals are processed to the verified source of funds, with bank settlement typically completing within one to three business days after processing.

Limits. A single deposit limit applies across all channels and can be set, lowered, increased or removed using the deposit-limit tool; decreases take effect immediately and increases observe a seven-day cool-off. Per-method minimum and maximum amounts apply and are shown at the point of transaction. A minimum withdrawal amount applies.

Identity verification (KYC). Identity is verified under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) before the first wager is accepted. Withdrawals are paid only to a verified account holder, and additional source-of-funds or affordability checks may apply to larger transactions before they are released.

Account closure

How to close an account. Email support@marantellbet.com from the address on file to request closure. Customers seeking to stop wagering for harm-minimisation reasons should also consider self-exclusion and the National Self-Exclusion Register (BetStop).

What happens to your balance. Any open bets are left to settle or are voided under the betting rules above. Once identity verification is complete and open positions are resolved, the remaining withdrawable balance is returned to the verified source of funds. A balance cannot be withdrawn until verification is complete.

Dormant and inactive accounts. An account with no log-in, deposit, wager or withdrawal for a continuous period is treated as dormant. The customer is notified at the address on file before any dormancy step is taken, and any remaining funds are held and dealt with in accordance with the applicable unclaimed-moneys requirements. A dormant account can be reactivated on request following identity re-verification.

Responsible wagering tools

Customers may set, lower, increase or remove a deposit limit at any time. Decreases take effect immediately. Increases observe a seven-day cool-off, after which the customer is asked to re-confirm the new figure before it applies. Removal of a deposit limit is treated as an increase and is subject to the same seven-day cool-off and re-confirmation before the removal takes effect.

Customers are prompted annually to review their deposit limit setting.

Activity statements. Each account holder receives an activity statement summarising deposits, wagers, wins, losses and net position. The first statement is issued 14 days after account opening; subsequent statements are issued monthly while the account remains active. All statements are available for download from inside the account at any time.

Complaints

The first step is to contact the operator directly by email at complaints@marantellbet.com. The operator-level flow is: the customer emails complaints → acknowledgement is issued within 1 business day → the matter is investigated → a written outcome is provided within 21 days. If the matter remains unresolved, the customer may escalate to the relevant external body: VGCCC (wagering disputes), AFCA (financial-services disputes where eligible), OAIC (privacy) or ACMA (advertising and IGA).
